I’m sure most of you heard that Owen Wilson slit his wrists in a botched suicide attempt earlier this week. Now this may sound kinda crass but what the hell does this guy have to be so upset about that he’d want to end his life? You’re rich, you’re famous, women want you… you’re livin’ the dream my man! I know everyone has their personal demons they have to wrangle but that’s much easier to do when you don’t have to get up and work a 9-5 job everyday just to barely cover your monthly bills. Maybe I’m an ass but to me his attempt at ending his life makes him a HUGE douchebaggins in my mind. Stand up and grow a pair Owen… life sucks and you have it good… deal with it.

Senator Larry Craig has now denied the sex charges he earlier plead guilty to in court. He also made it very clear that he was not gay… like that’s very believable after what he did in that Minneapolis airport bathroom. That alone is enough to make him today’s douchebaggins but to now try and say that what he did wasn’t illegal? You’ve got to be kidding me! Propositioning someone for sex in a public bathroom is illegal, end of story. On top of that he had the gall to hand the cop his card and say “What do you think about that?” as if that excused what he did. Senator… you’re a douchebaggins on so many levels I can’t even begin to describe it!

I’d like to apologize for the lack of an update to the site yesterday. I was swamped with a huge project at my real job and just didn’t have the time to post anything up all day (I was working well into the wee hours of the night if I need to spell it out). Either way, don’t consider this to be something that I take lightly or plan to do going forward. Granted I’m sure there will be the occasional missed day here and there due to vacations, personal issues (like yesterday), and whatnot but I am determined to make sure it is not something that will happen often. Once again, I apologize and hopefully those of you who’ve been reading The Daily Douchebaggins everyday will stick with it!

Time for another first here on The Daily Douchebaggins: my first post with no picture! Obviously there isn’t a picture of the California Penal System but they definitely deserve to be today’s Douchebaggins. Anyone who gives Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie such short sentences just because they’re famous is truly a douchebaggins in my mind. Think about it folks… what other state will give you a one day jail sentence that you don’t even have to really serve for a DUI and/or drug possession charges if you’re famous? These two girls put not only their lives in danger but the lives of others and this is how they’re supposed to learn a lesson!?! And if nothing else this just sets a horrible example for the young, impressionable kids out there who have to think that this is how the world really works. Personally I find this appalling so I present the “Douchebaggins of the Day” award to the California Penal System for work above and beyond the call of douchebaggery duty!

Today Venezuela announced that their National Assembly (basically like our Congress here in the US) had approved some constitutional changes that would not only lengthen the term of their president, Hugo Chavez, but also allow him to run again and again for office. This basically means that Chavez, who’s hell bent on making Venezuela a socialist state, could end up being “president for life” just like his good friend Fidel Castro (and we know how well that has worked out for the people of Cuba). Why would a country’s people approve something like this? Well basically Chavez has stacked the National Assembly with only his supporters so they do what he tells them to do. So much for their so-called “democracy” down there. So all hail our new “Douchebaggins for life”… Hugo Chavez!
